ATLAS

Advanced training learning and scenario simulator
trucks in a convoy in the desert terrain

ATLAS was developed to support the International Organization for Migration's hostile environment awareness training by enabling users to enter a virtual environment that simulated a convoy ambush in South Sudan. The user begins the simulation by sitting and travelling in the back of a car. Next, they can hear gunshots and see combatants through the window. Subsequently, they must leave the vehicle and aim to find a safe space nearby. The user has access to the SCAAN app and can indicate they are 'not ok' and request support.

ATLAS allows the user to experience the pressure of decision-making in a stressful situation, which is made more immersive through virtual reality and spatial audio.
