CREST aimed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of LEAs' intelligence, operation, and investigation capabilities. The CREST platform benefited from automated detection, identification, assessment, fusion, and correlation of web and social media evidence, IoT-enabled devices (including wearable sensors), video streams and seized devices.  The outcome of CREST was an innovative and integrated platform that delivers critical information to officers in the command centre and in the field. In addition, the platform supports the generation of early warnings, operational planning, and situational awareness through dashboard, mobile and augmented reality applications.

The project engaged the Protection and Guard Service from Romania and Moldova and police forces from Munich, Greece, Portugal and Estonia. The scenarios piloted were for the protection of public figures, management of crowded public spaces and the secure evidence exchange for weapons trafficking. CENTRIC led the development of the data model, data store and security architecture and also developed an augmented reality field agent application for the HoloLens 2.
