Dr. Kate Whitfield, CPsychol

Associate Professor of Forensic Psychology

Kate is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Professor of Forensic Psychology. She holds a MSc in Investigative Psychology and a PhD that focused on critical and major incident management, both from the University of Liverpool. Kate has research expertise in child protection (including child sexual exploitation and child criminal exploitation), online harm, violent crime, identification of risk, and critical and major incident management. She has extensive experience of leading contract-funded research projects, covering a range of topics relating to online harm or violence reduction, as well as working across several EU-funded projects on child protection and policing. Kate is proficient in using both quantitative and qualitative methods to collect and analyse data, and has produced numerous peer-reviewed publications, professional reports, and conference presentations for a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.
