This privacy policy explains how CENTRIC [The Centre of Excellence in Terrorism, Resilience, Intelligence and Organised Crime Research] and YHROCU [The Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Organised Crime Unit] handles user data in our app, Cyber Spotlight VR. By using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

  • While our application itself does not store personal information, login credentials are required to authenticate and access the application. 
  • Personal Information: Personal data, such as account information (e.g., username or email), is stored on our secure authentication server but is not stored or retained by the app itself.  

  • Non-Personal Information: Non-personal data related to usage (i.e. number of users, active users etc.) may be collected to improve the applications performance and usability.

All personal data necessary for authentication, such as user account information, is securely stored. The app accesses this information solely to authenticate users, but it does not store the user account information locally. This data is collected and processed to maintain secure access to the Cyber Spotlight VR application. Users can request access to, correction, or deletion of their data by contacting centric@shu.ac.uk.

Usage Data: We may collect non-personal data related to your usage of the app to improve its performance and usability. This data does not identify you as an individual and may include app usage statistics and device type and operating system.  

Location Data: We do not access or use your device's location data.

Our app does not use any third-party services or plugins that collect data from users.
